Where additional training is needed, a range of CPD courses are available to help meet our registration requirements and support your professional development.

Many of the courses listed below are available free of charge. Some are provided directly through Step Teachers, while others are available through external training providers.

PREVENT Awareness Training (not the refresher)

This course introduces the Prevent duty, the types of extremism and terrorism that pose threats in the UK, and the risks of radicalisation. It also highlights your role in offering appropriate support.

Advanced Child Protection in Schools

Designed for education professionals, this course covers how to recognise signs of abuse or neglect, respond appropriately, follow reporting procedures, and accurately record safeguarding concerns in line with statutory responsibilities.

Allergies & Anaphylaxis in Schools Training

This course provides an introduction to managing allergies in a school environment. It covers common allergens, recognising the signs and symptoms of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, and understanding the appropriate actions to take in an emergency to help keep pupils safe.

Cyber Security Training for School Staff
