Why have I been asked to provide more detail on my CV?
To keep children safe, Step Teachers must collect your full employment history. This helps us confirm your identity, verify your experience, and ensure we have accurate information to support your appointment. These checks form part of the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) statutory guidance.
As part of your application to work with Step Teachers, we are required to request a complete record of your employment since leaving school. This includes:
- All employment
- Any periods of education
- Any voluntary work
We must also review any gaps in your employment and understand the reasons for them, as required by safeguarding guidance.
You will be asked to confirm that you have read and understood the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance, which explains these requirements in full as part of your application to work with Step Teachers.
