Your pay rate is personal to you and depends on the role you are facilitating in the school.
Step Teachers do not have a set rate of pay but instead offers a range within each role in a school. As this is personal to you, the pay rate depends on a range of factors including but not limited to your qualifications, experience, and feedback as well as the role you are facilitating in school.
For example, you could be a qualified teacher with QTS but facilitating a role as a Teaching Assistant in a school. Your daily rate of pay wouldn't be the same as if you were in a Teaching post due to the demands and responsibilities of the role. Similarly, an Early Career Teacher (ECT) might receive the same pay as a teacher with QTS having completed their induction.
For teaching staff, if you are facilitating a long-term booking that involves planning, marking and reporting, Step Teachers would anticipate that you would be paid to your teaching scale (M1-M6 and U1-U3). But this is at the discretion of Step Teachers and the school as there is no right to portability on your pay.
You may need to proof your payscale in the form of a previous payslip, or with an official letter from your last school confirming the pay scale you were on.
You can check out the vacancies page on our website for an indication of the daily rate schools are offering currently.
