What counts as term time on a Student Visa?
Term time includes all weeks your course is officially running, including exams and coursework, even if you do not attend classes every day. During this period, the 20‑hour work limit applies.
Term time includes:
- Teaching weeks
- Exam periods
- Time spent on coursework or independent study
Even if you do not have scheduled classes every day, you are still considered to be in term time while your course is ongoing.
To remain compliant, Step Teachers will ask for confirmation of your official term and holiday dates, which must be provided by your university or place of study.
