How to Opt Out or Stop Your Pension Contributions

If you have pension contributions on your payslip but do not wish to be in our workspace pension scheme then you can Opt Out.

Here's how you Opt Out

Firstly, you cannot Opt Out in advance of being in the pension scheme.  Pension legislation is in place which means you have to be enrolled, and then Opt yourself out, rather than instructing Step Teachers in advance.

Once you receive the Activation Email from Options you can opt out.  This will be sent from donotreply@optionspensions.uk.  This email will sent around 10-14 days after you make your first contribution.

This email will enable you to set up your Options website access and to opt out within the pension platform.

Please bear in mind, you have 30 days from the date you receive your activation email to opt out of The Options Workplace Pension Trust and receive your refund for the contributions paid up to date.

Should you wish to proceed with the opt out please choose options “My Enrolment Options” and, if you are with your 30 days opt out window you will see the below message:

Once the 30 days window has expired, your request will be processed as a cessation/withdrawal (cease membership) and you will be provided with the below option:

When ceasing membership your funds will remain kept in trust for you by the pension provider.
