How to change your name through the TRA (Teacher Regulation Agency)

You can update your name on the TRA website with a DfE Identity.

Log into the TRA website with your DfE Identity to update your legal name. You can follow the guide to create a DfE Identity account.

Login to your TRA account: https://access-your-teaching-qualifications.education.gov.uk/

1. Click the link to view and update details
   
   
   
2. Verify your login details
3. Confirm the details the DfE (Department for Education) currently have on record
   
4. Continue to change your name. You will need to provide evidence to support this change
   
5. Enter what your official name is
   
6. Upload the supporting evidence. 
   
   This can be a:
   1. marriage certificate
   2. civil partnership certificate
   3. decree absolute and birth certificate
   4. statutory declartion
   5. deed poll
7. Submit the application and wait for a confirmation of your name change.
