How do I add another DBS certificate to my existing Update Service subscription?

You can add multiple DBS certificates to your existing subscription by logging in with your Update Service ID.

If you already have an Update Service subscription, you can add multiple DBS certificates to the same account.

Some exclusions for adding to an existing subscription are:

  • You can't add a Paid for DBS to a Volunteer Update Service account
  • Your Surname needs to be the same for all certificates. If you have changed your name you will be required to have a new subscription.

Firstly visit the Update Service website: https://secure.crbonline.gov.uk/crsc/subscriber

You will need to log in with your existing Update Service ID and date of birth. This will start with a C and be followed by 10 numbers, for example C0123456789. This ID is personal to you and shouldn't be shared.

Once you have logged in, you will see the existing certificates you have on the update service, and the ability to change your mobile number and address.

Changing your address on the Update Service is for your online record only. You will not receive an updated DBS through the post with your current address.

Under your current certificates, you can add a new Application or Certificate,

Once you click add a new Application or Certificate, you can enter the details of the new DBS. You can use your application number for your new DBS (starting with an E or F) or select Use my Certificate number instead if you have already received your new DBS through the post.

If the details of your new DBS match your existing record for the update service, this will be added to your account at no extra charge.
