Guaranteed Payment Scheme (GPS)
A discretionary scheme offering selected teachers a guaranteed daily rate for agreed term time days, based on availability, suitability, and compliance.
The Guaranteed Payment Scheme (GPS) is an optional arrangement offered at the agency’s discretion to selected teachers working with Step Teachers. It provides a degree of income security while maintaining the flexibility of supply work. Because eligibility depends on consistent availability, reliability, and suitability for local schools, the scheme is not available to all candidates. Those invited to join will receive their specific terms directly.
Teachers accepted onto the scheme receive a guaranteed daily rate for an agreed number of days each week, available during term time only. The guarantee applies Monday to Friday and is designed to offer stability similar to contracted work within a supply framework.
To remain eligible, teachers must confirm weekly availability, accept suitable assignments within the agreed travel radius, maintain compliance and professional conduct, and understand that the guarantee ends when a long‑term role begins. The guarantee does not apply when a teacher is unavailable on a guaranteed day, declines a suitable assignment, does not meet compliance or safeguarding requirements, or restricts their availability.
